… don’t know if i have shared this before… but it bears repeating even if i have…

Widespread cultural acceptance of lying is a primary reason many of us will never know love. It is impossible to nurture one’s own or another’s spiritual growth when the core of one’s being and identity is shrouded in secrecy and lies. (bell hooks, All About Love)

@mbkriegh presented with the insight:

"nurture one’s own or another’s spiritual growth when the core of one’s being and identity is shrouded in secrecy and lies."

One realizes the urgency of truth in our lives and how often we can ever so slightly craft the truth. Nurturing spiritual growth is dependent on truth.

@mbkriegh That's a powerful quote. It's not even cultural acceptance, it's a cultural requirement. Since early childhood we are taught that we have to lie and hide to survive and be accepted.
