Deeply saddened to hear that King Charles might be crowned the defender of the faiths rather than the defendor of the faith. — What a tragic thing to do for someone named after that great defender of the faith & martyer, Charles I.
@marmanold Don't they have a constitution or something that would make this decision more than a personal whim of Charles R?
@marmanold This was a rumour awhile back, but I haven't found confirmation. I read an alternative story that he will still be crowned "Defender of the Faith," but also have a statement saying he serves people of all faiths.
@KyleEssary I saw something briefly in the Gauardian this morning, but didn’t read too far in. I pray it’s just that old rumor and not fact.
