@kimberlyhirsh I’ve always wondered about the Ashkenazi name. I have no clue what my heritage is more than four (including myself) generations on my father’s side, and five or six generations on my mother’s side. From what I know I have no Jewish ancestry, but I’m not sure. I’m a bit hesitant about giving away DNA to some company, but at the same time it would sure be interesting to know more.

@odd Ashkenazi and Sephardi refer to the geographic areas where different groups in the Jewish diaspora settled.

@kimberlyhirsh @odd Don’t forget Mizrachi, Jews from The East. I’m Ashkenazi, myself, but spent time in Israel attending a synagogue that used a recreated Israeli tradition called Nusach Yisrael that’s largely based on Mizrachi ttaditions.
