@manton This is part of the Shadow and Bone series or its own thing?

@Gaby It's a set of 2 books in the same world, some years after Shadow and Bone, but different main characters. I really enjoyed it. It has a different feel because it's written from 5-6 character viewpoints. (Here's my microblog post of the first book.)

@manton I see, thank you, wondering if I want to read the Shadow and Bone series too or just watch the tv show and then keep reading whatever is set in that world. Thank You!

@Gaby Further complicating things, as @kimberlyhirsh mentioned to me earlier the TV show weaves together both these 2 book series (but maybe not the 3rd book series). I think it has to play with the timeline to make this work, but I've only just started watching it.

@manton @Gaby The TV series features the main characters of Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom in a mostly new story showing what they are up to at the same time the Shadow and Bone trilogy takes place. The only spoilers for the books are the characters' qualities and the Nina and Matthias story, which depicts scenes shown in flashback in Six of Crows.

@kimberlyhirsh Ah, that makes more sense. I assumed they were going to attempt to take the Six of Crows plot and shift it forward into the Shadow and Bone timeline, which would be weird.

@manton This way is definitely smarter because now they have all of that content for future sessons.
