@manton Mastodon menation keep importing even if they are nothing to do with posts on micro.blog, is that expected behaviour?

@gregmorris Yes, if you have Mastodon import mentions enabled, it will get all of your mentions, even if they aren’t referencing Micro.blog. Maybe we need a separate preference for that?

@manton I think it would be best to only import ones in responce to a micro.blog post as it gets confusing.

@gregmorris Good feedback. I think if we do that, it’ll have to be a preference, because some people want to use Micro.blog as their entire interface, without having to check Mastodon directly.

@manton If you want to go that far, maybe it would be best to consider using a headless server for your instance. You can then offer an integrated UI with limited features for micro.blog users, or they could use an alternative front-end (like Phanpy or Mastodon-FE) if they want all the Mastodon-like features.

@manton exactly .. choice .. not prescription. I like that it serves as a jolt from time to time to go look .. but can imagine that an intensive Masto account could overwhelm .. like my old hobby horse re followers / following .. you follow hundreds of people I don’t .. but life is too short to scroll through to find any people you follow in micro blog that I don’t.
