Updated my WWDC expenses page after going through some more receipts. Surprisingly close to what I had estimated.

@manton thanks for making that public, and for teaching me that "maybe i'll go to WWDC on a whim next year" is...not really a thing. 😂

@jw The tricky part with "on a whim" is where to stay. Getting a good hotel rate seems to require predicting WWDC dates far in advance. Airbnb is another option.

@manton @jw how about making several bookings across various likely dates and cancelling the wrong dates nearer the time?

@JohnPhilpin That's what I've heard several people did this year, and I'll do next year. You have to make sure their cancellation policy allows it on your booking rate though.

@manton @jw based on my experience this year I would say AirBnB is not a reliable option for WWDC. I had two bookings cancelled and ended up ages away which was inconvenient. What I have heard people doing was sharing a room with someone they know as you can get a room with two doubles for not much more than one, making it much cheaper overall.

@rosemaryorchard indeed .. otherwise it could become VERY expensive

@rosemaryorchard Good to know, thanks. Presumably the host realizes they can get 2x from the WWDC crowd and so cancels and books it again? Not cool.

@manton The first person double booked, the second said their guest extended. Definitely not cool.
