As someone who usually supports OpenAI, I’d still welcome an actual lawsuit from Scarlett Johansson about the voices. For one, I’m a huge fan of hers, but also I’d genuinely like to know if anything shady happened at the company. Dishonesty will cast a shadow over everything the API touches.

@JohnPhilpin I don't think anyone wants to see fake impersonators in comedy. If it's just an AI deepfake, it'll lose its magic and humanity. I'll take SNL's Trump over AI any day.

@manton sorry - different point - comedy already under threat because people are worried about how their words can be taken .. and some of that is moving into law … however scarlet and Sam end up - there will eventually be a law about impersonation of looks and voice in AI .. but how the law is read once implemented will be the question .. not ok to make fun of trump using AI .. why is it ok for a human ( just spit ballin devils advocate here )

@manton It's an undiscovered country, giving rise to all kinds of new-frontier behavior, including fear of missing out (read: Google Search AI summarizations, which are clearly without any reading comprehension by the tool, since that would most likely require artificial general intelligence).
