Seperately I still look forward to having MicroBlog and Readwise just synch with my chosen folder in Newswire. And then I thought I read the other day that this is indeed possible. Is it? I can’t find anything about it anywhere. 🥺. But there’s more. I want the opportunity to change the order dynamically, based on ‘last post in’ - but no plans according to Manton.

@JohnPhilpin If even the share sheet in the Readwise worked to share book excerpts to Micro.blog, I would be fine. Works for every other app ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@JohnPhilpin On iOS. There is. But you click, and you get a blank screen with the "still loading" circle/throbber which doesn't end.

@pratik hmmm… never noticed since I rarely (never?) post directly into MB from anywhere .. much less Readwise .. I go to drafts where it can marinate and append if needed ..

@JohnPhilpin No, I mean this screen. This is an image and hence can’t send it to Drafts. Using the Share button on this screen and then selecting Micro.blog gives me that never-ending loading circle. Happens only with Micro.blog. Works fine for all other social media apps I use.

@pratik but just for kicks just tried it and it is as you say .. so who needs to fix it? RW OR MB?

@JohnPhilpin Since it works for Ivory, Mona, Glass, Slack, WhatsApp, etc. I assume Micro.blog has to?

@pratik tl;dr React Native takes up too much memory, so large images in a share extension can die on the limits. That’s what I suspect is happening, is Readwise makes a huge image to try and keep crisp text.

@jsonbecker Ah! I guess it's never going to get fixed. I wish they just said that. Well, there will be compromises if you don't design natively.

@pratik they could write a share extension in Swift or ObjC and I suspect that would fix it, but who knows.
