@JohnPhilpin This sort of tracking was a big part of my decision to leave my last two jobs (in one I was asked to implement it, with the reassurance I was ‘trusted’ and wouldn’t be part of the monitoring).
It’s incredibly corrosive and counter-productive, and I can’t help but feel it will be at least a significant footnote in future social histories about the failure of capitalism.

Over in the programming department - this leads to inefficient code - same reasoning.
@JohnPhilpin It’s utterly bizarre. There is so much research evidence on human motivation versus a tech solution that condenses human labour to a metric. By making it seem easy and measurable, the tech solution will win 99% of the time. But it’s the 1% of companies that don’t that will ways make the difference.
