@vincent I notice it more on @gluon since that is what I mainly use … but let’s request of @manton the same….

After all ….

> “Only drug dealers and software companies call their customers ‘users’”

Edward Tufte ( at least that’s the attribution I found … is that right? )

@JohnPhilpin @vincent @manton ‘people’ very much ignores the reality of Micro.blog accounts; they’re not all people, or even necessarily represent people, or even all customers. If the label could be changed per account/account type, then maybe a set of words could be used but that sounds like a difficult problem to solve.

@vincent @simonwoods all good - be interesting to know what percentage of micro blog accounts aren’t personal … maybe I just have a habit of following people - not ‘companies’.

@JohnPhilpin @vincent You can also follow domains and Mastodon accounts. Plus there’s auto-posting. I think there’s a good chance this variety will increase as time passes.

@simonwoods yes - and I guess my edge case is that I don’t do either - hence ‘people’ … maybe a change at root is as simple as account ( that alone is a better name than ‘user’ ).
