@stefp loved first two tracks he pushed - the third totally grated on me - ‘Horrible’ is how I put on Reddit though I persevered anyway because sometimes I have not liked things he’s done - and then they did.

Bottom line - it is getting better but still not quite there.

What is really interesting is that what I didn’t like about it It was how amateur and out of tune it all sounded - certainly in the beginning. Then in an interview he talked about how he specifically had a rules through the sessions that instruments are to be played ‘as is’ - so maybe ‘not tuned’ … so whatever instrument was used at the time may or may not have been in tune.

I guess this track shows that philosophy in spades and is a response that fits into whatever the Broad arc of this album is about … blah blah blah … I don’t really know - but/and I am the 1st to say that whether I enjoy a new piece of music or art should not depend on me understanding the backstory, but here I am.

It’s also unclear how that untuned stance fits into the entire album - because without tuning - surely it just gets worse and worse.

@JohnPhilpin I decided not to listen to any of the released tracks and wait for the full thing. Maybe those instrumental choices will make more sense heard as part of a complete piece of work. Incidentally I don’t like the drip drip release of tracks like Peter Gabriel has been doing lately.

@stefp yes - I get it - SW himself doesn’t like it apparently - but is the way - he said. They will likely be a lot better in context.
