@toddgrotenhuis I like the idea of bioregionalism, though I haven't spent much time with it. I believe it would be vastly preferable to situate oneself in something more real than governmental boundary lines. "Indiana" is so many different things, even though it's theoretically one. The Mitchell Plateau, however, is a very specific thing.
@jabel Ever since I read Gary Snyder's suggestion in the late 1960s, I've tried to identify which major watersheds (he thought they should replace political boundaries) I live in, and think of myself as a kind of citizen of my watershed. Right now I live almost on the boundary of two watersheds and feel as if my loyalties are divided. @toddgrotenhuis
@JMaxB One local watershed empties, eventually, into Lake Ontario; the other, a few miles away, into the Chesapeake Bay. Cool.
