Sometimes when I'm sitting on the plane about to take off, looking out the window at the other planes flying by, my mind starts wandering thinking "what would happen if..." and I end up googling some disaster. @aaronpk I started out casually watching aviation simulations, but now I watch everything by [this guy on YouTube.] I don't think he's covered the Überlingen story, though. My point is, having watched enough of these, they don't make me nervous now. In fact, my confidence in air travel is strengthened, because I have learned how many things have to go wrong for an accident to happen (definitely true for Überlingen) and how over time air travel has been made safer and safer.

@aaronpk In that situation, there are two teams of highly-trained professionals keeping you safe. (Pilots & air traffic controllers) You’re better off there than almost anywhere on earth.
