How alien are these chitted potatoes? After 3 weeks on our priest’s kitchen window ledge they have been blessed enough and are ready to plant πŸ˜ƒ I’ve never grown potatoes before so I’m looking forward to the harvest. I love potatoes!!! πŸ₯”πŸ˜πŸ₯”

@hollyhoneychurch I love potatoes too! And it's so fun to dig them up--like digging up buried treasure. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of space to devote to them so my harvest last year was quite small. It would be so fun to have a large space just for them.

@hollyhoneychurch Also, are you serious or joking about the time on the priest's window ledge? I absolutely love folk practices when it comes to gardening so I'm interested if you're describing an actual practice.

@jabel they were on the priest's window ledge because we didn't have anywhere else to put them! His house is warmer than the polytunnel and we don't have a greenhouse right now. He lives right where the church garden is. It's a holy place on sacred ground so there's lots of great energy around here. There are bees hives too - with holy bees πŸ˜ƒ So it wasn't a practise as such, but I love the fact that they have been growing in a sacred space. Whether that makes them grow better, I don't know 😊 hope so!

@jabel barrels work well I've heard and take up less space.

@hollyhoneychurch I'm still into it--even if it isn't an established practice! :)
