@JohnBrady This is an interesting observation that calls to mind the book I’ve been reading lately about immanence/transcendence in traditional cultures. I’ll try to write a post on it soon.

@JohnBrady I think that describes what I see. Even after 27 years, however, I’m not entirely feeling it myself. This is a very long process, isn’t it?

@ReaderJohn It’s funny how, even in his attempt to defend the old “integrated vision,” he can’t help inserting a little (accidental?) chronological snobbery: “I suspect no modern believer wants to return to a world where ‘I believe it, though I don’t know why’ is considered an adequate stance.”

@tinyroofnail Oh, wow. As my faith matures, “I believe, but I don’t quite know why,” is just where I’m finding myself. So many important things won’t sit still for rational analysis. Hebrews 11:1.
