I have a Fedi username - so I can find this posts on Mastodon. But still I can’t share this post from Ivory and hit “Open in Mona”. Can something be done to links to tell Mastodon (et al): “Trust me, bro - you can open this link.”?

@Erlend Hmm... Here's something related, from a Mastodon issue. It seems like what I want is for the apps to "resolve it as an ActivityPub object" - but I don't know if there's anything one can do to a link to make apps do this.

@Erlend I think this is related to being able to search for a blog post URL in Mastodon have it find the post. I'm planning to support that, and I think when that works it will automatically add this open link ability too. (Technical answer, supporting content-negotiation on permalinks to find the ActivityPub info for an object.)
@manton Ah, cool! Would that make it possible to make something like the merging of the plugins Reply on Mastodon and Conversations on Micro.blog? (Whether it's one or two buttons, I would like to have people be able to reply through ActivityPub or Micro.blog, while having the comments appear on the blog.)
@Erlend Maybe... Reply on Mastodon is currently for cross-posting to a separate Mastodon account, so it would need to be updated to support linking to the "native" ActivityPub post. But I think it would have to prompt for someone's Mastodon server?
