@jessy I’m here for the community, and I blog on Wordpress instead of hosting here. (I use WP for work, and decided against having multiple blogs) Cross-posting here works well. And I pay for a subscription because the community itself is valuable, even if I don’t need hosting right now. I want micro blog to stick around.

@jessy for me it’s the best service I’ve ever used and best community I’ve ever been a part of. Micro.blog is very simple and easy to use. I love the philosophy and idea of owning your content and not being owned/tied to a big social corporation. I’ve been using Micro.blog for over a year now and I don’t think I’ll anywhere anytime soon. 😁

@jessy I use it for cheap blog and podcast hosting. It’s great and super easy to use. The friction level between me and posting is very low which I greatly appreciate. In my mind, that’s the killer feature.

@jessy not sure it helps - but I have too many blogs for my own good - but whatever gets said there is syndicated to here. I rarely use mb for long form - I treat the site as my public facing daily journal ... long form and podcasts reach here if the community has interest.

Then again .. I syndicate OUT From here to twitter and mastadon - not to LinkedIN which is possible - but too much for over there.

And finally - the community - a good bunch who are diverse but always have something interesting to say.

Plus I really like supporting initiatives like this that work for me ... @manton and @macgenie and others are doing a good job and creating a space that works for how I think about life.

Hope that helps.

@jessy I use it for micro posts, basically a replacement for Twitter. Also, for my photo blog. All long form content is on Blot and syndicated here.

@jessy I use Micro.blog as home base. Everything is reposted to Twitter, Mastodon and my Squarespace site. I go straight to Twitter for Football (soccer) or Baseball Conversation, all else here.

@jessy The diversity of answers you’ve already had is in itself my answer; different people, doing different things, most commonly in agreement about actually supporting platforms in rejection of the big-business ad-driven model of the corporate web. This is all built on a foundation of slow, steady, and carefully executed development by a team that is not in a rush to sell other people out for a quick buck.
