Today’s music of choice (at least for the time being) In Absentia by Porcupine Tree
@kaa It's one of those bands that sometimes I forget how much I like them and when I remember I have to play them all day.
@Gabz in Abstentia was my introduction to Porcupine Tree which then lead me to buying every album they did plus all Blackfield and No Man and a lot of IEM and Bass Communion and of course - all of his solo work — and then of course Opeth, Storm Corrosion, Anathema, Bruce Soord and Pineapple Thief not to mention the explorations of Harrison, Edwin and Barberei ... in short Wilson took me down a path of discovery that I am still moving through 15 years later.

@JohnPhilpin Anathema yes! Blackfields definitelty! Now you've added a bunch more to my list. Thanks, always looking for good recommendations
@JohnPhilpin Blackfield (which I am currently listing and I'm loving it). No-Man, Storm Corrosion And Bass communion, those
@Gabz storm corrosion was a one off collaboration with Michael Ackerfeldt ... no man is a collaboration with Tim bowness - maybe 8 or so albums - bass communion is Wilson’s exploration of ambient / drone / electronic with guest appearances of all kinds of people
Blackfield I love And if p tree is his Floyd side - Blackfield is his abba !!
@JohnPhilpin ah! I see! Well I’m so glad you mentioned Blackfield, I’m in love with this album 😅
@JohnPhilpin it sure if their first, sometimes I pick which al I’m im gonna listen the same way I pick my wines, by the cover/label 😅
@Gabz thanks for posting this, I was not familiar with this band and I am loving this album. Also it fits in with my goal of discovering and listening to new music this year.
@klandwehr of course! this is one of those bands that I often forget I really like 😅, same thing with Coheed and Cambria
@JohnPhilpin nailed those recommendations! It’s been YEARS since someone opened up this much awesome music to me. Thanks. Really really appreciate it.
