Home Screen: December, 2019
@simonwoods the obvious question, what’s the app second to the right on the dock ? 🙃
@Gabz DayOne is flexible enough to provide any form of journaling but I enjoy having a stripped-down option that just works well at the few things it does.
@simonwoods Thanks for the Daygram mention. I mean to journal more often, but have been really poor about doing. I like the simple timestamp mechanism and the simple iCloud backup.
@simonwoods @Gabz I like the look of Daygram. I have been using My Wonderful Days since...wow, I just took a look, December 2011. I don't journal digitally all of the time, but MWD has been a reliable companion when I need it. There is an OS X version as well. And the app has developed nicely, even offering Markdown in the last year or so.
@crossingthethreshold @simonwoods nice! Much of my “journalism” its pretty much everything I post here on my blog. So usually what I do is I compose my posts using Drafts, then I have an action to post to Micro.blog and the last step I can send that text to wherever and usually I send it to DayOne.
@stefp Yep! Very happy so far. Even the obvious performance shortcomings are balanced out by my desire to stop the phone from becoming a constant presence in my daily life. Also been very lucky to be able to afford some other items to further tip the balance in favour of using the phone less often.
@vasta It was one of those moments when an image immediately grabs your gaze and refuses to let go.
