@hjertnes I would normally disagree with bits of it, too, but a recent Hugo update broke my site build and I spent way too much time farting around trying to fix it. When that happens, using WordPress can seem like a relief :).

@jack I use a very simple template i wrote myself so that’s not a problem for me. But I think the Wordpress dominance is a problem. And I just hate all the crap you need to add to make it secure and usable, and all the busy work of updating it all.
@hjertnes I've spent more time futzing with Hugo, etc. than I ever have with WordPress. The difference is that I typically find the Hugo futzing to be much more enjoyable. My remaining WordPress site is pretty much straight out of the box with a couple plugins and a CSS tweak or two. Updates are nearly automatic. My nerdier side wants WordPress to be the bloated, difficult, pain in the ass that we claim it is, but, if I'm being honest, for me it's been mostly simple, full-featured, and worry-free. If I could only find a theme I don't hate :).
@AngeloStavrow That's the one. Lots of breaking changes over the past year. The price of progress, I guess.
@jack Myeah. My theme is in the gallery and was one of many there that is affected, so the folks that keep that working reached out to me (and many others) to let us know about needing to fix it. If they hadn't, I probably wouldn't know about it — I'm not in the habit of updating Hugo.
