Challenge: name a movie sequel that was greater than or equal to the original. I’ll go first: The Empire Strikes Back.

@ChrisJWilson I think The Terminator is way better than T2, minus the effects of course… Speaking of Terminator movies, there is rumors of a new Terminator movie.
@yorrike I was debating Back to the future 2. I think three is better than 2 and possibly on par with 1, but 2 sets up 3 and is kind of necessary. Basically I didn't think it was a clear cut choice. The trilogy is great though.
@odd they felt so different to me that I consider it an equal. I've probably seen 2 more as it's a bit more lighthearted. I can get why some people prefer 1 but I think it can be considered an equal. (New terminator eh! I haven't seen any of the last two)
@ChrisJWilson Yes🤩. Cameron is said to be director, and the story a continuation of T2. I can see why some prefer or think T2 is equal also. I’ve not seen T4(?), and not the Sarah Connor Cronicles, but all the rest. If you haven’t seen any after T2, it’s no loss IMO.
@odd unfortunately I've seen three :( but the description sounds promising, especially with Linda Hamilton onboard!
@yorrike Think I’ll have to rewatch that one to give an opinion… That was the “Simon says…” one, wasn’t it?
@macgenie I really can't remember Toy Story 2 for some reason, though 3 was brilliant. I think I had better find a way to watch that.
@yorrike @chrisjwilson @macgenie @gabz I think maybe Aliens is better than Alien, but it could not have been as good without Alien.
@vasta If only there was a further film coming out to provide an extra incentive to watch all of them...OH WAIT.
@yorrike I’d also add Army of Darkness, as much as it was or was not a true sequel to The Evil Dead.
