@Gaby I’m curious about that decision. Why not have your custom domain be used for your microblog?

@macgenie Well, it might have just been and impulsive decision (as most of my decisions are). Although, I am sure I discussed this with my wife and probably made a good point about it, to which she concurred but can't remember now because I'm forgetful like that. Maybe is just the fact that I do like the username.micro.blog format, it says who I am and where is my website/blog hosted. Maybe other people that don't know about micro.blog might get curious about it when they see it? Also I'm in the middle of trying to figure out the identity of my blog, in a way, so gaby.micro.blog will do just fine. Also, let's be honest, it's another domain I don't have to worry about renewing. I am sure there's more to it but that's about why I did it. And I am okay with it.
@Gaby Those are good reasons. If I may point out the one strong reason in favor: if you use your own domain, you’ll be able to move your blog to any host in the future without breaking the links. The portability of Micro.blog vs. social media silos is part of our core mission. I’m trying to get more people to use their own names going forward, one of the tutorials I’m working on, so that’s why I had to ask.
