@AndyNicolaides maybe is not a second brain what you need, rather a mental dump where you can store information and can be searchable. And that’s what Apple Notes sor of is, or at least for me

@AndyNicolaides I don’t get Obsidian at all. I’ve tried, I’ve bought classes, but it just isn’t for me. I use Notion to manage projects (Kanban boards) and Drafts for notes. DEVONThink is also handy.
@BenSouthwood I’ve paid for Roam, Notion, and Obsidian. The utility is in the personal workflow. Obsidian Sync and Obsidian Publish fit my needs better than the others. But dynamic block linking in Roam is a killer. I found myself spending too much time making Notion pretty–a good thing for many of my friends–when I needed a clean note-taking system that worked quickly on my handset. So I’m finishing 2022 with Obsidian.
@AndyNicolaides I enjoyed Bear more than Apple Notes. Loved its elegant sync between iPad and iPhone.
@topgold I think for my needs, which is documenting research/dialogue/ideas for fiction it’s overkill for me. Truthfully I don’t think I’m wired for it.
@BenSouthwood There’s a lot of quicksand in those Second Brain Experiences. You can get stuck in running extra cycles without producing higher word count every day.
@BenSouthwood for brain dump style notes, Apple notes works a treat. For things like notes in classes, coursework etc, l swear by Craft. The nested pages alone is worth it to me.
