🎙️Podcast listeners, where are you listening to podcasts?

What app are you using? Is there something you like about it or is it simple intertia?

I’ve been using PocketsCasts forever (because it’s cross-platform) and am curious what else is out there that people like.

@peroty Overcast user here. No cross-platform, you can use the web version to listen on a pc or something. it is not the fanciest but it is rock-solid, works the way I expect an audio-RSS feed app client to work (that’s the scientific name for a podcast app lol) episodes get downloaded, I listened and they get deleted when done, nothing else. The one feature that keeps me from not using Pocketcast is audio-clip sharing, I do use it quite a lot, you can save a clip in video form or audio, and to go much further, you can save the audio clip then use Drafts to transcribe that piece of audio, in case you would want to reference that in your blog or elsewhere, pretty useful witchcraft

@peroty After reading your first sentence, the first answer in my mind was “in the kitchen”, but the. I continued reading and found out that you were asking for an app.

My app of choice is Overcast. I don’t know how the podcatcher market is nowadays, but when I started to take podcats seriously Overcast had by far the best audio features (strip silence, natural sounding speed up, etc)

@maique Pocket Casts is awesome too. I’m with @Gaby that all the real podcast clients are worth trying and sticking with.

@peroty I am a Pocket Casts user, due to its availability on all platforms. Also, love the ability to move audio files to Apple Watch. Did not realise overcasts allows you to take clips. Will have to check it out.

@peroty Apple Podcasts. When I was really into podcasts (meaning I had to drive to work and get stuck in traffic) I was using Overcast for years.. not that it’s sporadic, it’s just simple to use.

@jeroensangers In the kitchen and mowing the lawn are two of my top answers. So I’d say you got my wavelength. :)

@peroty Long time Overcast user.

I’ve listened to podcast since they were just called audio recordings. And Overcast was the first app that worked the way I wanted a podcast app to work.

@peroty I think I’ve tried them all but Overcast is the one app to rule them all.

@peroty Haven’t found any client that works as well with the Apple Watch, as PocketCasts. Besides all the other things it does really well.

@peroty Overcast, though with the recent bugs, I’m thinking of trying PocketCast.
