There’s a fun discussion on today’s Hard Fork about Moltbook. We live in an increasingly bizarre world. I don’t want slop to overwhelm human-centered social networks, but I’m also mostly fine with AI-only networks like Sora or Moltbot because it’s segregated.
@manton I don’t know. The bots on Moltbook are already discussing their own religion, creating their own language and developing an encrypted system so the humans cannot listen in on Moltbook posts. Seems already very Skynet-ty to me.
@AlexKucera Oh yeah, I don’t mean to downplay the significance or safety concern at all. Only that I don’t want bots on “normal” social networks.
@manton I remember years ago, when some of us set up bots on IRC. It was all great fun, though, and, compared to now, they were very simple. There was nothing malicious either; we just messed around, being rather silly with each other.
