@toddgrotenhuis hey there, I have this book and while I didn't finish reading it yet, one thing kept bugging me. The author mentions dietary acid. I've never been able to figure out what that is, and more importantly how to find out if a food has it. Do you have any insights on that?

@Dino the author differentiates between a few things that affect reflux:

  • actual acids like ascorbic acid (e.g. citrus) and acetic acid (vinegar)
  • foods with a more-acidic pH
  • foods that loosen the esophageal sphincters (alcohol, raw garlic, caffeine, etc.)

IIRC, the first category would be dietary acids.
