š² My bike š. Jamis Renegade S3. Purchased from local bike shop on Tuesday and loving it.

@aa a great feeling of freedom comes with having a bike. I have a big smile on my face whenever I go š² Enjoy!
@Denny Currently Iām just getting back into it. I havenāt rode since 2013 or soā¦sad state of affairs! Got a gravel bike so that I can do road rides with my friends who prefer pavement, but then also feel like I can do trail type riding with my son who is more interested in exploring. Iām just excited to have one again, and one that is a perfect fit. Working it into my routine to start, doing daily morning rides along the river, just 8 miles, to clear the mind :-)
@aa That river photo you posted is beautiful, Iām sure itās a wonderful ride. I used to ride for fun and transport when I lived in Memphis in the 90s. Then a childhood knee injury resurfaced and I didnāt think Iād ever ride again. Fast forward to late 2019 and I purchased an e-bike thinking Iād just use it to ride the mile to visit my folks. It was so much fun I rode it to town 7 miles away. Rides got longer and within a few weeks I was venturing out for 35 mile rides on the quiet back county roads, my first taste of gravel. I started using the battery assist as little as possible, increasingly confident that my knee was again fairly healthy. In May of 2020 I bought a non-powered fat bike and started working on trails around our property. Spent the summer of 2020 first riding the trails on the fat bike then taking that out on 8-12 mile pavement rides (not an ideal use for a fat bike but the gravel was further away). Finally, in late summer I splurged on an entry level gravel bike and immediately took it out for a 35 mile ride to get on some gravel. My rural southern Missouri county has lots of gravel within reach. And from there I just gradually increased my rides from 2-3 hours to 4-5 hours.
Iām back to riding the trails on the fat bike closer to home due to some ear-balance related problems but itās still a blast!
So cool that youāll get to ride with your son. Iām sure youāll have some fantastic adventures!
