Listened to Nikole Hannah-Jones talk at a work event on diversity, equity and inclusion. She is an impressive, powerful speaker. Something I learned today was really disturbing. Children of enslaved women were slaves irrespective of who their father was. Having more slaves was basically... parag.micro.blog

Because there was so much stolen land that needed to be worked on. 🤯🤯🤯

@Parag Awesome! So lucky to hear her speak in person. Her 1619 book is a must-read along with Isabela Wilkinson’s Caste. They can be difficult reads though and I had to take frequent breaks to process the horrors but worth it.

@Parag Really looking forward to the Hulu series. Heard a very long podcast interview with her last year and my first thought was that it should be required listening for every US citizen... especially those that would most like to not hear it.
