Finally looking into the work of Brandon Sanderson, I’ve always enjoyed fantasy but managed to miss his work somehow. Any recommendations on where to start? 📚

@philbowell I am as well. Currently on the holds list at the library to start with Mistborn.

@philbowell I started with Mistborn so I’m sort of biased into recommending that. But you could also start with a standalone novel like Tress or Warbreaker, or the novella Emperor’s Soul is also really good. Also check out this page and video from Brandon with more ideas of where to start.

@philbowell My Brother put me on to him last August but I too have felt very unclear where to start.

@manton thanks for the pointer Manton. I’ll give that watch, managed to miss it somehow in my bumbling around looking for a starting point.

@johnchandler seems to be common starting point. I’ll see if my library has it.

@philbowell I’ve got about 3 months to wait still. Hope it’s shorter for you.

@philbowell I started with the Wheel of Time, as I had been reading since the early 90s and he took over the series under Robert Jordan’s guidance at Jordan’s passing. My eldest son started with Mistborn. My wife and two daughters started with Tress and the Emerald Sea. My youngest son started with Alcatraz and the Evil Librarians. We are all fans now.

@KyleEssary looks like it’s a worthwhile investment then!
