@JohnBrady So one video I watched speculated that was a reason, plus using half frame means you can have twice as many shots on each roll. I don't think the old Olympus trip cameras, which are half frame too, have a portrait view finder though which makes me wonder how they mounted the film.
@ChrisJWilson I used to have a Diana Mini and an Olympus Pen EE and both were half-frame cameras and a lot of fun, especially being able to take so long between changing rolls of film.
@danalcantara I was surprised at first but I can see how that totally makes sense for people who've grown up with smart phones. 1. More photos 2. portrait 3. Enough detail for instagram I always forget about lomography cameras which are still being made.
