It’s best to think of the iPod Touch as a very small, $199 iPad. I think the value for that price is better than any other Apple product. Good to see it updated.

@manton @simonwoods Now if they’d only put a cellular modem in it, I’d buy one in a heartbeat! They could call it the iPhone Xsm and charge a premium. 🙃

@Bruce Beyond technical limits (including those derived from having only so many people involved in the process) I can't see any good reason to not do this. The iPhone stands alone in its field, including the ability to thrive as a varied product line unto itself.

@manton It’s also a great sign for those of us hoping and praying for a refreshed smaller iPhone. This update pretty much guarantees that the screen size remains relevant for a few more OS iterations.

@kimahlberg Yeah, if they don't update the iPhone SE, I wonder if they've considered making an iPod Touch with cellular. That would keep things pretty simple and make a lot of people happy.
