How do people have plants and cats in the same home? We have a 40” money tree in a planter that we want to bring indoors for the winterer, but for the life of me er of me I don’t know how to protect it from the cat.

Ideas?

@AngeloStavrow No ideas, just commiseration. Well, I do have a small collection of house plants huddled on top of a china cabinet that our two plant munchers have not managed to reach, yet... so, there's that.

@AngeloStavrow I don't know if it a problem, none of our cats are interested in plants and just don't touch them.

@AngeloStavrow Are they eating the plant itself or digging in the dirt in the pot?

@rcrackley yikes, aren’t peace lilies toxic to cats?

@annahavron I’m strongly considering putting it in a glass cabinet. I know it’s going to to look silly, but… 🤷‍♂️

@jemostrom it’s been outside on the balcony because it’s a problem. 😂

@petebrown he reaches up and eats the leaves, basically. Digging in the dirt hasn’t been an issue… yet.

@AngeloStavrow not at all! It's a time-honored tradition to put plants in glass. If the glass container is small, it's a terrarium. If it's large, it's a conservatory. 😸 very luxe

@annahavron when I lived in the area I often visited this conservatory which is definitely over the top, but an amazing place especially in the winter @angelostavrow

@annahavron oh, I love the idea for smaller plants! I’ve seen some cool hacks of IKEA display cabinets and might do that for potted plants. 💚

But a nearly four-foot-tall tree? 😬

@AngeloStavrow Isn't it amazing? ...and it's surrounded by so many outdoor gardens, acres and acres of gardens and walks of all kinds. I went there almost every week when I lived there, because every week was different. Worth a day trip if you are ever near Wilmington DE or Philadelphia

@AngeloStavrow We put our plants in areas that the cats can't get to. Lovely wall vases and rooms the cats don't get into. But, that limits the type of plants we can have in the house.

@AngeloStavrow 😂 then you probably need to sit down with the cat and have a serious chat 😁

@AngeloStavrow until we get a green house we wrapped the bottom with aluminum paper. Cats stay away 😎
