I have an iPad that I use as my computer away from home, but it’s not really what I want. I have looked for a good device small that can run Emacs on the good a few times. I installed Linux on a Surface Go 2 but it was not great. I am really hoping that the MNT Pocket Reform fills my needs.

@zoglesby you might check out the various devices from pine64. Inexpensive ARM-based laptops and devices for Linux.

@7robots I have several of them in my house. The hardware is good, but almost all of them are incomplete on the software side. That said it may be time to play with the PinePhone and keyboard case again and see if that has improved.

@zoglesby that's a shame to hear the SW is still iffy. I was contemplating picking one up as an alternative to the RPI

@7robots The single board computers are typically fine, it’s the phones, tablets, and e-reader that have issues. Missing drivers, etc. Pine makes the devices and expects the community to figure out how to make them work.
