@Gabz I have that one gmail account too - just keep it and ignore it. When you come across an account that uses it, try and switch the contact email address. After a decade or so, it’ll probably be safe to delete.

😅 right!
Seriously tho, that's actually a good idea actually
@Gabz On the up side, it’ll probably be costing Google money to keep that account running if you rarely look at it and read all your email in an email client. So there’s that too.
@yorrike ha! I have always read my gmail thru either iOS mail.app or a third party email client
@Gabz I deleted all my Gmail except for about 100 important ones, and moved my main email address to one hosted by Hover. I am happy with Hover and my new email address, but I can’t realistically delete my Gmail account. That address is the one everybody knows and every company that needs to contact me has. I have started deleting almost all my incoming email though, which feels freeing when compared to holding onto ten gigabytes of mostly junk mail.
@Gabz I created an email address with a different host and started forwarding all my gmail to it and created a rule that would color code anything that came from gmail. Made it easy to see senders that I needed to update/notify with a new address. I waited about 18 months before completely stopping use os the gmail account. I also exported then deleted all the email in my gmail account - I think doing so was pointless because I believe Google keeps a copy regardless. Also, I use email aliases.
