It took me two years to research and write my 100 page thesis. Can someone in the legal field explain how judges seem to pump out 100 page rulings every few weeks?

@yorrike if they're anything like Doctors, it's a dictaphone combo'd with a secretary. Plus they tend to waffle with their legalese, which easily adds 20-30 pages to what seems like a simple and obvious ruling. I'd imagine there's a fair bit of citation in the ruling as well, add 10 more pages....still that leaves 60 plus pages of work, which still seems like a shot tonne of words!

@matpacker And a lot of boilerplate text? Defining the charges as set out in the law?
