@writingslowly You’ve not mentioned one of the large/old players in the field: Org Mode for Emacs. That’s also a plain text thing, but of course, in something that’s more an operating system than an editor.
@k0nrad.bsky.social good point. I’ve tried org+mode briefly but it scared me. But people who love it seem to actually love it. So maybe it will never die, and never go to the notemaking app graveyard.
