@odd Yey! Nowadays I'm experimenting with low heart rate training which means a lot of slow runs. I've come to enjoy them.

@odd please allow me to recommend Couch to 5k and ParkRun. The first gets you running, the second gets you running friends!

@writingslowly Thanks! I’ve downloaded CoachTo5K earlier, but I saw the first sessions were “Run for 8 minutes…”, and I think even that low is to ambitious for me starting out, but a little down the road, for sure! Haven’t heard of the other one, might come in handy. ☺️👍

@odd If you check the website, it says week one’s runs are 60-seconds. I think it comes to a total of 8 minutes but it is broken up into sets

@jemostrom I read an excellent book on stretching, written by a swede. I forget his name, but I did come quite far with the book, and got to be very “stretchy”! Too bad, like with the running, I didn’t continue doing it.

@odd Yep, last spring, summer, autumn I succeeded in increasing the flexibility of my back (no one else noticed 😋) but then I got sick and had too much to do at work ...

@odd that’s strange - I did Couch to 5k with my son and as I recall the first sessions were almost entirely walking. But anyway, the principle is good- start really easy and gently work up to running. Good luck!

@writingslowly Thank you. Yes, I re-downloaded the WatchTo5K app, and see now that the first week starts with a total of 8 minutes of running, split up in 8 one-minute runs, with 1½ minutes of walking in between. That should be possible even for me to do, (albeit slowly). I checked the second link you mentioned, and there are three running-groups here in town, so plenty of opportunities further along. ☺️👍

@odd good luck! It's amazing how much difference sheer repetition makes. I started going to the gym regularly and can now lift things! At first this seemed impossible 😭
