Western trucking. It takes a really big storm to block the sun completely from everything I can see. As the storm rolled in, the partial cover created natural spotlighting and vignetting. A solitary truck climbed into the storm. I hope the driver enjoyed the view.

@cliffordbeshers Amazing looking. I assume American truck companies flock to where you live to shoot all of their commercials.

@gregmoore You aren't far off. The Alabama Hills are down the road a piece and you can see them as a background in a high percentage of car commercials and movies. For example, when Iron Man opens in Afghanistan? Alabama Hills. I saw an ad with a photo from across the valley yesterday. It's a relatively short trip from LA to this area.

@cliffordbeshers That’s really cool. I remember a similar experience when I was staying in New York City on a long college trip. I started to identify where many of the makeup commercials on TV were being shot because I was frequently walking those streets.

I think it’s better for a place to be known for its natural beauty. Hopefully those companies continue to be good stewards of the land and keep it beautiful.

@gregmoore yup. Columbia campus, SoHo, Chinatown, all places I frequented, all recognizable in movies, TV and ads. Law and Order was everywhere, of course.
