@mellowdave Indeed. To anyone who thinks classical music is dead, I would point to John Williams on one side, and Hans Zimmer on the other. And even for opera, there are Stephen Sondheim (Sweeney Todd: the best opera of the 20th century) and now Lin-Manuel Miranda.
@mellowdave Hans Zimmer is fantastic! The work he does for a Nolan film is always fantastic. Interstellar is a great example. I'm also partial to Inception myself.
@mellowdave @joelhamill watched Interstellar today with LOUD surround sound, and the emotions were turned up to 11. Also became clearer how Nolan used sudden silences in space
@warner its a masterpiece of sound manipulation. In the same vein, the torpedoing scene from Dunkirk, as well as the fishing trawler on the beach.
