I’ve found more interesting things on Micro.blog, just this morning, than I have on Twitter in the past month.
Micro.blog > Twitter
@gr36 Mailbrew, general discussion about CMSs, Matt's post about talking shit on Twitter, Patrick Rhone's piece on how threads should be blog posts.
There are probably others that I'm forgetting.
But I guess I'm just trying to convey that Micro.blog is so much better than the current state of Twitter.
@mdrockwell @gr36 - you really need to stop planting so many of these great tinkering ideas in my head Michael, I’m gonna have to go back to Twitter and read about what my third @ is doing. 😉
@mdrockwell quick thought experiment: do you think that would be true if users were same in both?
@w4rner probably not. I think Twitter encourages more toxic behavior — "dunking" on others through quote tweets, for example. And that behavior is encouraged through like, retweet, and follow metrics.
Without any of that, the folks on Micro.blog can focus on sharing cool stuff.
@mdrockwell have you been here long? ps. cool to see you’re an engineer @ Automattic - I enjoyed Matt Mullenweg’s episode on Write With Impact 🎙
@jasraj I first signed up in 2018 but only posted a few times. I jumped back on last month and haven't looked back.
Also, Automattic is very cool. 😎
@mdrockwell ah, welcome back :)
And glad to hear! It sounded cool - and a trailblazer in many ways re: culture/working-from-home, etc from what I could gather.
