There are few professions I respect more than librarians. We need them.
@Daojoan Thank you!! I LOVE being a librarian, but it can be draining, so support like this really helps.
@Daojoan Not sure whether it was simply a coincidence or if Google is tracking what I'm reading π΅βπ«. Anyway, YouTbe just suggested this: youtu.be/vpZEtc8VQ...
I respect them, but I also reserve the right to fetishize them a little. Naughty librarian. Flirty librarian. π
@Daojoan he calls me Daniel, I have no maturity in English... But give to understand the site was beautiful I am loving to continue like this please I hope to get more knowledge with you here.
@Daojoan
>I fucking love goverment funded information programs that are subject to goverment censorship and book bans that we call libarys
@Daojoan in Ireland (both sides of the border) I can't stop being amazed at how far libraries have come, too.
I liked the library.
My kids LOVE the library.
@Daojoan Great to see libraries evolve in the 21st century, too. They've become inclusive community spaces for everyone. π
@Daojoan
Library workers, poll workers, and teachers are high on my list of respect.
@Daojoan My favorite librarian memory from school: Fabulous-looking but not very bright classmate steps around the stack of books prepared for our next assignment and asks the librarian about where to find <title> by <author>. The librarian, a usually very kind lady in her late fifties looks at the girl over her glasses, points at the stack, and asks βAre you blonde?β
@Daojoan I owe everything to librarians. My school was never going to educate me, so I escaped to my local library and educated myself.
The librarians should have reported me, but they knew what was going on and instead, gave me a huge amount of support and guidance
That set me on a path that I know with absolutely certainty would have been closed to me without their kindness and generosity.
Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear spectacles on chains and will unlock the 741.5 section for you β€οΈ
@Daojoan Just saw my local librarians, who are dealing with day 4 of a city-wide library server catastrophe, and they said "welcome to our nightmare." Poor things, hope it gets fixed soon
@Daojoan Supermarket checkers and waiter/servers have tough jobs too. Dealing with rude assholes is very taxing.
@Daojoan They were our Google before Google became Google. If they couldn't answer the question, they knew where to find the answer. β€οΈ
