There are few professions I respect more than librarians. We need them.

@Daojoan Thank you!! I LOVE being a librarian, but it can be draining, so support like this really helps.

@Daojoan Not sure whether it was simply a coincidence or if Google is tracking what I'm reading πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«. Anyway, YouTbe just suggested this: youtu.be/vpZEtc8VQ...

I respect them, but I also reserve the right to fetishize them a little. Naughty librarian. Flirty librarian. πŸ‘€

@Daojoan in Ireland (both sides of the border) I can't stop being amazed at how far libraries have come, too.

I liked the library.

My kids LOVE the library.

@Daojoan My favorite librarian memory from school: Fabulous-looking but not very bright classmate steps around the stack of books prepared for our next assignment and asks the librarian about where to find <title> by <author>. The librarian, a usually very kind lady in her late fifties looks at the girl over her glasses, points at the stack, and asks β€œAre you blonde?”

@Daojoan I owe everything to librarians. My school was never going to educate me, so I escaped to my local library and educated myself.

The librarians should have reported me, but they knew what was going on and instead, gave me a huge amount of support and guidance

That set me on a path that I know with absolutely certainty would have been closed to me without their kindness and generosity.

@Daojoan Just saw my local librarians, who are dealing with day 4 of a city-wide library server catastrophe, and they said "welcome to our nightmare." Poor things, hope it gets fixed soon
