Thought I was done with the DIY's, but I just saw this cat tree and I still have an unused monitor arm... so.... πŸ₯² #DIY

Cat tree that my supervisor could hypothetically use.

Monitor arm that I could use to make my own cat tree

Ok this is the situation for now. Found a random metal plate that I could use to attach the arms together. πŸ”₯

Now it needs a wooden base, luckily I still have some scrap wood. Then a round ledge around it, made from.. something that can bend? No idea what that should be. πŸ˜… #DIY #DIWHY

@Gina Ikea has some wooden trays (https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/cat/trays-16048/) and bowls (https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/search/?q=Serving%20bowls) that might be a good cozy space for your cat.

Guess what will absolutely NEVER be used in this house.. EVER.

He hates it 😹😾 #DIYWHY

The end result: a floating basket cosplaying as a cat bed on a monitor arm. It's surpisingly sturdy and very very much hated by said cat

His majesty would rather lay on pillow filling than a handmade bed

Even cut out a base out of plywood

Taking some filling out the pillow to make it fit better for his majesty

@Gina Maybe start with the basket on the desk, see if he warms to it, then migrate it to its home.

It’s a brilliant idea but cats can be, uhhhh, finicky.

I love what you settled on BTW. It’s fantastic! πŸ‘πŸΌ

@Gina We have a couple kitties and my wife upgraded their bed we kept on a rocking chair. Flynn, LOVED that bed. Once my wife swapped it out he stopped using it.

Kitties are weird, just like us humans. πŸ˜„
