The 5 apps I open to start the work day, and how I arrange them:

Space 1: Safari and Folding Text
Space 2: Mail and Things
Space 3: DEVONthink Pro Office

(Doesn’t count various menu bar apps)

What are yours?

@40Tech I use a 34” ultrawide monitor that reduced the number of spaces I use.

Space 1: Calendar, Mail, Stickies Space 2: iTerm2, Safari, Things

All spaces: Finder window, iTunes (hidden), Messages (hidden).

I use Divvy to set up what amounts to 3 columns on each.

@ronguest Jealous of your monitor. I'm using Moom, and I have a Keyboard Maestro macro for each space to open the apps and then trigger the Moom setup. KM also opens the Safari pages I need, and creates a new FoldingText document with the current date as the title

@40Tech if you don’t mind my joining in...
I need to use a Windows machine at work, but I also bring my own MacBook Air to supplement my computery needs...

Space 1: NotePlan (think FoldingText but include a calendar/daily notes) and NVALT Space 2: Assortment of Safari windows (I do the Siracusa-method of grouping tabs by related topics) and Spark Space 3: Ulysses Space 4: Fantastical

@vishae Nice. I’ll have to check out NotePlan. I used to be on a Windows machine at work, too, and lugged along a MacBook Air every day. Fortunately we went platform agnostic a year or so ago, and I couldn’t be happier.

@40Tech On desktop 1 I have Safari and Mail, desktop 2 is reserved for Things, Notes and Skype.

@roelio I keep getting tempted by Notes, and its integration with the system. So many good notes apps out there.

@40Tech That is so true. Normally I prefer ‘open’ alternatives, but Notes just works really well since about iOS 10.
