Went to the usual shop today, and a young lady served me, think she’s new… she asked me if I had their "app". And I misspoke and said to her that I don’t own a phone. I received a compliment for it. That was nice. Only tech on me was my little Casio watch.

@vincent I think the only smartphone I'll end up using will be one for testing purposes. Actually the one I currently own will more than cover that for years to come so that means... I might never buy another one for personal use 🤯

@simonwoods For me it's difficult, because I also happen to make apps for smartphones - so I need to find a middle ground. If I look at it at a purely "this is my job" and keep it that way, it works a treat. Only when I need it. If it does break, I will most likely just keep a dumb phone around for taking with me so my wife can get in touch.

@vincent Same here. Even though it's currently my only phone, I already think of it as a work device. Felt much better since I began to actively think of it in a different way, let alone the restrictions I've applied on the device itself.
