@jeremycherfas I guess I ought to learn to like Edinburgh. Regard my fortnight there as just a bad time in my life, which made the glowering buildings seem even more morose.

@vanessa @derekpeden I know Edinburgh better than Glasgow and I agree that the darkness of the stone can be oppressive, especially when wet. But it is a very handsome city, and entertaining to observe.
