I did an exchange to Germany 32 years ago, & joined my host family for their vacation in France. Before leaving, I had my first epic French meal.
Turns out Restaurant Le Savoie still exists: in Margaux, north of Bordeaux.

@boris I had one of these about 35 years ago staying with a friend on her year abroad in Lyon on my way to a semester abroad in England.
The meal was at Bocuse and it broke me and my concepts for food and eating from then onward. I did a six course fixe menu and it was stunning.
@vanderwal such an indulgence but of course when one thinks about a memory stretching out over 3 decades — worth it!
