We That Summer, by Han Yujoo

That’s why we said these words over and over like a habit. It was the most violence we could inflict on ourselves. We wanted to inflict greater violence on ourselves than the violence we’d experienced at the hands of others. It was our own form of revenge, on others and on ourselves.

This is a story about suicide, but also not; it’s a story about being young and restless and apathetic and exhausted, but also not; it’s a story about playing a game called Dungeonquest over and over again, but also not. It’s really, really good.
