On my Micro.blog site styling the photos also affected my avatar at the top of the page. This CSS fixed that:

img#avatar {margin-top:0; padding-top:0;}

@Miraz thanks for the tip, I’m borrowing it. Don’t forget to change the avatar at the bottom of the page. I used this:

#post-meta img.avatar
