I wish Tiny would just officially put the app to bed. It’s obviously on life support.

I wish another major podcast app would rip off the queue system as it’s done in Castro. It’s perfect. Inbox/Queue/Library.

@bonney I couldn’t agree more - I’m genuinely surprised that Overcast hasn’t tried to do this yet. I know Marco knows of Castro.

@bonney oh no, not again 😞. I love that app, it’s probably my most used next to Ivory.

@maxmelzer It broke my heart, but I moved to pocket casts a while back. I loved Castro..

@codemonkey85 @bonney What does Castro do differently? I set up Overcast to just put all my subscriptions in a “Queue” playlist automatically. I don’t even have notifications enabled. It all just works.

@anthonyvardiz @bonney Castro had a queue and also an inbox. The inbox would let you triage podcasts into a queue. You could also automatically queue them by show. The animations were really nice, and the app allowed you to select specific chapters to skip while in the queue. It’s kind of hard to describe how wonderful it is unless you try it yourself. Unfortunately, you may never get to do that! 😭

Not sure, I’m explaining it well, but it was almost like a kanban style list for podcasts.

@matt it is strange that PocketCast is rarely mentioned as an alternative to Castro…. Am I alone to use Pocket Cast and be happy with it?

@numericcitizen it’s my choice, I like that it handles video feeds and I’m comfortable with how the filters work. Also, as an early adopter I have the Plus tier for life, which is nice.
