@writingslowly where we live in the country is comparable climate wise to Kyoto. So, we're always looking to their gardens and rock formations for inspo. Not that we accomplish much. But, the dream feels good.

@writingslowly Well, there are the Famous 3 gardens on the tourist roster, which you will already know about, one of which, at least, you can probably visit, depending on where you’re based. Shrine and temple gardens off the beaten path can be great … their discoveries are best made serendipitously, wandering. Traditional crafts run a gamut! You may like to narrow your focus a bit and then find where that particular art/craft is strong? For example, there are certain places where different kinds of pottery have their roots. Or depending on where you’re staying, find notable crafts or craftspeople in the area?
